漁師の夫を亡くした信子は一人居酒屋をやっていた。夫の弟子であった潤は、信子へ恋愛感情を持ち、また信子も潤が自分のことを想っていることを知りながらも、尊敬する辰夫のことを考えると今一歩先に踏み込むことができなかった。そんなとき潤は、友人の晴彦から夫が遠洋漁業に出て体を持て余している早苗に夜這いに行こうと持ちかけられる。そしてそれがきっかけで潤は、信子も他の男から夜這いをされていることを知ってしまう…！
