お好み焼き屋を営む春子と昭三は、よく夫婦喧嘩をしているが、基本的には仲がよかった。ある日、渓流釣りに行った昭三が転落死してしまう。昭三の釣竿を前に泣き崩れる春子。手伝いに来た妹・奈津子に家を任せて店に行くと、昭三がやり残したままの洗い物が見え、ますます悲しみを募らせてしまう。そこへ酒屋の佐藤が現れ、実は…と襲い掛かってくる。やつれた春子に抵抗の気力は残っていなかった。
