宅配便の配達をしている悟郎は婚約者の美枝と別れ、腹上死した神社の宮司宏夫の妻由利子と結婚した。由利子は悟郎とは一回りも年上で、しかも三度目の結婚だった。悟郎の得意先の建設会社に勤めていた勝子は、会社を辞めて寮にもいられなくなったので、以前から心を惹かれていた悟郎を頼って転がり込んできた。由利子は勝子には悟郎の姉だといっていた。そして、元婚約者の美枝と悟郎の再会…。
