時は戦国。領主の親を討たれたかすみは、弟の光太郎とともに真田幸村に引き取られた。幼い光太郎を守るため、修行を積んだかすみは真田くノ一となる。老師・夢風から命を受けたかすみは、小諸の仙石領内に潜入する。徳川家と石田三成の対立を偵察する草の六蔵からの連絡が途切れたのだ。草の六蔵は、仙石家の白牙隊に殺されていた。白牙隊の侍たち三人を斬るかすみだが、彼女もまた太股に傷を負った。
