さまざまな事情を抱いた人が訪れる旅館。ここで働くのは未亡人女将・富貴子と板前の正一、仲居の多美江である。正一が現れたことで経営不振から立ち直ったことに感謝し、富貴子は正一と結ばれる。あるときは教授と学生の不倫カップルを応援し、ある時は経営不振の会社社長を癒し、と評判になっていく旅館。そんなある日、正一は驚くべき秘密を打ち明ける…。
