舞台は自然の美しい村。だがここも若者は都会へ行ってしまい、不況の波が押し寄せている。村で一軒の旅館ほのぼの荘の常造は、活性化のために東京から茜と桃子のコンパニオンを招いた。挑発的なスタイルで現れた二人に村中大騒ぎ。常造には娘が二人いる。姉の玉子は五年前に恋人と上京したが、振られて帰ってきた。妹の千代は恋人の三郎に東京へ行こうと誘われ上京することになり、玉子も後を追って…。
