とあるうどん屋に届いた一通の結婚式の招待状。その招待状の差出人の名を見た店主の一義の脳裏には、修行時代の情景が昨日の様にはっきりと映し出されていた…。一義の若かりし頃、うどんの味に惚れ込み弟子入りした、ひなびた海辺のうどん屋。その店の女将・秀子に一目惚れをした一義。しかし秀子は寡黙な料理人・信介に思いを寄せている。微妙な関係に終止符を打つため一義は、秀子との結婚をかけたうどん勝負を信介に挑む。
