阿部美代子は、出産で休む現国語教師の代理で、臨時で某高校に赴任した。任期は半年ほどで、どこにでもある平凡な高校。そして美代子もよくいる女教師に見えた。 登校初日、生徒の一人満が、校舎の裏で煙草を吸っているのを見つける。しかし、美代子は満を咎めるわけでも無く、ただ自分の高校時代にあなたは似ていると云うだけで行ってしまった。
