「カレー屋ブンちゃん」は、少しさびれた商店街にある、庶民的で風情のある昔ながらのカレー屋さん。その店で調理師見習いとして働く智恵子は商店街の人気者で、みんなからチャコちゃんの愛称で親しまれていた。しかし、同じ商店街の一角に大手チェーン店の「カレーの王者」ができたことで、状況は一変。「カレーのブンちゃん」は閉店間際まで追い詰められる。店を救うため、チャコは一肌脱ぐことに…。
